A Catechism of Christian Faith and Doctrine for the Global Methodist Church (Large Print Edition)
This concise booklet, 32 pages in length, contains seventy-seven questions and answers designed to be used by children, youth, and adults to ground them in the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith and Wesleyan doctrinal tradition.
These booklets can be purchased in bulk and used in church-wide study as it provides a uniform method of ensuring that all church members—from lifelong Christians to new believers—have a common understanding of the essential truths of Christianity and Methodism.
This resource can be ideally paired with sermons which underscore the urgency for all church members to be solidly grounded in the scriptural and biblical truths of over 2,000 of Christianity and 250 years of Methodism. When church members share a common worldview and understanding of the Christian faith it will guard them from many errors or possible heresies that inevitably erode the faith of persons who have not been properly taught the timeless truth of Scripture.
Because a catechism is a regulative formulation of church doctrine, its primary sources should be the church’s doctrinal standards. In the Transitional Book of Doctrines and Discipline of the Global Methodist Church, we profess a longing to “remain rooted and grounded in the scriptures and in the historic teachings of the Christian church as defined in our Articles of Religion and Confession of Faith, and understood through the Wesleyan lens of faith.” This catechism is organized by and derived from those sources.
